Awareness Sessions

With the granting of minority status to the community, the need for creating awareness about the various provisions under the law regulating & governing these benefits, various govt. organizations, agencies & authorities working in & responsible for implementation of these facilities & benefits etc. became a prime need for the community. BJS identified this as one prime area of importance and geared up to address this need for the community and came up with the Nation-wide comprehensive awareness campaign.

It was a mammoth and challenging task to reach in its own characteristic style to all the pockets of Jain community through the length and breadth of the country.

With a view to ascertain the areas of benefits of the minority status, research and studies were conducted within a month of the community falling under the umbrella of minority status.:

  4. Benefits to Women
  5. Benefits to NGOs
  6. Religious benefits to individuals and religious institutions.

To conduct the Nationwide Awareness campaign on minority benefits in an impressive way, apart from creating Resource Persons to gear up the drive, BJS has designed three different modules:

The Queries pertaining to Minority benefits floated on ‘helpminority@bjsindia.org’ are attended to and responded within 24 Hours.

WhatsApp Minority Update Service

Updates, changes in schemes of benefits run by Central and State Governments, procedural changes in availing of the benefits, modifications in Rules and Regulations, if any, etc. are regularly notified on WhatApp.

Students and their parents are categorically being made aware of the different benefits with the procedures and latest updates

Benefits to the Students
  1. The meaning and importance of the Minority Status
  2. Legal aspects of being Minority
  3. The areas of benefits
  4. Procedures to avail of the benefits.
Under the Prime Minister’s 15 point program, there are 3 kinds of benefits under various schemes:
  1. Scholarships (for the student from 1st to pursuing higher studies including Ph.D.
  2. Financial support for coaching etc.
  3. Educational loan on subsidized interest rates

Campaign for Educational Institutions

To enlighten the Trustees/Principals/Executive body running minority Schools and Colleges of several benefits accorded to their institutions, special workshops/seminars are conducted.

Benefits to Educational Institutions
  1. Article 30 of the Constitution of India confers upon special rights to minority communities to establish Educational Institutions of their choice, also the right to administer them.
  2. Many administrative and other benefits like grant-in-aid can be availed of by the Educational Institutes run and managed by Minority Communities.
